Background
Evan Schecter graduated from the School of Professional
Accounting at Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus with a B.S.
Degree in Accounting in 1983. He attended Pace University's Master
in Taxation program. Evan began his accounting career working in the
tax department of a large publicly traded corporation with a few dozen
subsidiaries, filing tax returns in many different states. Prior to
Evan leaving private accounting to join our firm, he had worked his
way up to Tax Director and Assistant Controller in charge of all tax
aspects of the corporation.
Evan joined Michael C. Allen CPA, PLLC in 1996 and is the Tax Manager
of our Long Island office, handling all aspects of individual, corporate
and partnership taxes. He is an expert in offers in compromise and
has had excellent success in settling with the Internal Revenue
Service for pennies on the dollar. He has also had great success
in getting Internal Revenue penalties canceled. He has reduced tax
assessments and successfully settled tax audits.
